Dry skies, calm seas, and ideal conditions for whale watching. From November to April, blue whales can be spotted in the waters off Mirissa, making it one of the best times to experience these magnificent giants.

For a more economical journey, express buses operate towards Matara. From Matara, Mirissa is approximately 15 km away and can be reached by tuk-tuk or taxi.

For a more scenic experience, trains from Colombo Fort to Matara travel along Sri Lanka’s southern coastline. From Matara, a short tuk-tuk or taxi ride will bring you to Mirissa.
